Obituary of Lyle Clifford Place

The friendly old fella watching over the passersby from his chair on the veranda was finally granted his wish. Lyle Clifford Place of Brockville passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Thursday October 13, 2022, at the age of 83. Beloved husband of the late Bernice (nee Beach, formerly Lafferty) and stepfather of Irene Lafferty (Dan Forget), Wendy Dufresne (Gil), Sid Lafferty, Laurie Lafferty (Rick Everding), Larry Lafferty, Terry Lafferty (Shanna). Lyle was the proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Dearly loved brother of Dan (Elaine), Gary (Donna) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Clifford and Hazel (Wylie) Place, and siblings Joyce Clarke (late Edward) and Raymond (Cathy).  Forever loved and missed by his feline companion Midnight. Lyle will also be dearly missed by his friend Cliff and neighbours. Your support and friendship these past few years meant the world to Lyle. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation, also, to all the health care professionals who provided such kind and compassionate care for Lyle this past year and during his last few weeks in hospital.

In keeping with Lyle’s wishes, private family arrangements have been entrusted to the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville. Interment at Maynard Cemetery, Augusta.
