This is Gerry on September 17, 2018 singing at our Jam Session at Wall St. Church. Gerry was always our favourite...no music notes required; he new his stuff; and sang like Hank Williams without missing a note. We would always ask Gerry what key he would be playing in...and of course, his answer was "Key of G". The following is a small Ditty that Brenda Kelly and I wrote and sang for Gerry. We will miss you terribly Gerry. Our deepest sympathies to Lorraine and family.
Love and Blessings from: Darlene Burns
A DITTY FOR GERRY (Throop)
…in the Key of ‘G’
Our Jammin’ Buddy Gerry
Is as kind as one can be;
He laughs and sings, and plays guitar…
But mostly in the Key of ‘G’.
Hank Williams could have wrote his life
They sound just like each other;
And all those old-time country songs…
Could not be sung much smoother.
His memory’s sharp, no sheets has he
Lorraine’s by his side with her fiddle;
She directs that bow where she thinks it should go…
While he sings ‘Ole Rattler’ and ‘Bobby McGee’.
[Chorus]
We made this Ditty just for you
So you could plainly see;
How much we really do miss you…
And all your songs in the Key of ‘G’ !
[Chorus + last 2 lines]
To Gerry with Love & Blessings

Dear Lorraine, Wayne, Steven, Keith, and families..
We are saddened to hear about your loss. Please accept our deepest condolences. At times like this it is hard to know what to say or do, but may you find comfort in knowing that we care about the sorrow you feel and that we are thinking about you and your family with heartfelt sympathy and caring.
We will remember Gerry for the kind and cheerful and genuine person he was.. We will remember his music at the many outdoor gatherings. He played his guitar with passion and sang like no one was watching; he was thoroughly in his element.. -- I will cherish fond memories of Gerry when we worked together at Kemira Peroxide; no matter how much of a stressful day with machinery or technology, Gerry always had a twinkle in his eye and a cheerful greeting and a bounce in his step. -- Although we moved to Moncton in 2014, we keep good memories of you and Gerry.. He touched a lot of people by his gentle ways and he will be sorely missed by all those he touched..
You will miss him, we know, and it is with heartfelt sympathy that we send this caring note to you and to the family as we remember a life so very well-lived..
In friendship, with Deepest Condolences,
Liz Quinn & Robert Brady

To Wayne and the family I send my heartfelt condolences. I know the Lord will give you "borrowed strength". It's always difficult to lose a loved one, especially a parent. Hold on to all the memories, family photos, and funny stories that define their character. They have left their indelible mark on each of you. I pray the Lord will speak to your heart and with strong loving arms bring you through this time of loss. You are not alone.

Dear Lorraine & Family,
My deepest sympathies to all of your family. I will cherish the memories and special times we spent together camping, in my younger years. Gerry always made me laugh and was a super sweet person. I believe Gerry gave me the nickname “Tanner” when I was a young girl. I recall playing a lot of cards with him too. Gerry will never be forgotten only missed. Hugs to everyone.
