Obituary of Jackqueline Caroline Nix

         Jackqueline Caroline Nix (Tweedale)

                 May 1930- November 2024

Jackie was born, raised, and died in her beloved hometown of Brockville.  During her childhood and adolescent years she lived on Church and Perth Streets with her parents, Edith (Peebles), and Lionel Tweedale. Jackie adored her Grannie, Caroline Peebles (Baker), and Grandpa, William Peebles who also lived on Church Street.

In 1946, Jackie met the love of her life, Royden Nix and began a lifelong adventure with him until he passed away in 2011.  Roy and Jackie married and had a son, Barry, of Brockville, and a daughter, Carol, of Calgary.

In her younger years Jackie enjoyed skating at the Brockville Memorial Centre and boating and swimming at the family cottage on the St. Lawrence River.  During her married years she enjoyed, camping, square dancing, golfing, playing bridge, gardening, travelling and spending time at Bimadashka on the Wolf River, especially when family were there for a visit.  Jackie was an active member in the Belleville Garden Club, as well as a Beautification Judge for Belleville, and surrounding area.   While living in Guildwood Village, she volunteered as an activity coordinator at the Guildwood Village Nursing Home.  Jackie’s hobby was cooking, and she always delighted family and friends with her culinary skills.

Jackie will be sorely missed by her children, Carol, Barry and his wife Cheryl;  four grandchildren, Carolyn and her husband Aaron of Calgary, Jeremy and his wife Eileen of Calgary, David and his wife Amy, of Arnprior, and Jamie of Brockville; six great grandchildren, Brynn and Brooklyn of Calgary, Sam, Ben and Thomas of Calgary, and Royden of Arnprior; cousin Linda and her husband  Ian of Ottawa; cousin-in-law George  of Frankford; and niece Vicki of Brockville.

A graveside service for family and close friends is planned for Monday November 18, 2024 @ 1pm in Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Breakfast Club of Canada or Jumpstart – Canadian Tire would be greatly appreciated by the family.
