Sandi, Taylor, and Matthew - I would like to send my deepest condolences on to you with the recent passing of Teddy. There have been several losses since (2015) but frequent recollections of wonderful times spent with two generations that preceeded, between Ottawa and Brockville. In our hearts Teddy and all who passed before likely had a pipe and a bottle of scotch waiting at the entrance for him. Time passes so quickly now but I remember the pure joy and pride especially that Aunt Eva radiated from the O'Connor Street apartments when each of (you) Matthew and Taylor were born, pictures and memories, bus trips to Brockville, quality moments on the front porch, in the back yard on Murray Street, Phyllis' Morning Glory vines, the additions made to a small house being prepared for a long life and indeed for a next generation- if only those wall could talk! Teddy (and my late father, Lionel) now thinking less than saying, 'you crazy ars.. sure as hel.. hope they never do!'. You have such a rich and a wonderful family legacy of such love, endurance, generosity, and caring. Teddy in no small part. So please be well and day by day, try to go forge ahead this way even in difficult times. I know you will (continue to) make time for one-another and are bound to create many more happy Ryan family memories- KFC optional! Thank you for the photos the family shared online here. We will raise a glass, of both kinds maybe, Scots and an Irish one- next time through Brockville! Sincerely Peter Fox- Valemount BC

Much of my mid-to-late teenage years were spent around the Ryan household in Mallorytown. (Although I haven’t seen him in years, Matt still remains one of the best friends I ever had in my life).
Ted and Sandy were always friendly and kind to me - and our crew. Ted always was willing to share wisdom and experiences from his life. He spent many a Saturday night talking to us in the basement on Goodbody Crescent, while we may or may not have indulged in the odd beverage intended for those older than we were. Pipe in mouth, scotch in hand, and that nonchalant, soft, monotone voice - whether talking sports or just shooting the preverbal bits of advice he liked to share - it was always nice to chat with Ted.
A few bits I can recall from those years:
Ted: “Jason is that you on my roof?”
Jason: “yeah. I’m just getting a better view of the eclipse. “
Ted: “the moon? Well you best get the hell down now or you’ll be on it”
…
Another thing I remember is Ted bringing up is some song by the name of “hoochie coochie Henrietta from Honolulu” or some such craziness (sorry Matt if I got that wrong … I think it’s accurate though). Sadly I have yet to find a recording of it.
Best wishes and prayers to the entire Ryan family - from my family.
Tonight I’ll have a drink or two… or more, (white Russians are my choice now), in Ted’s memory. And I might just get inspired after that to looking up dear old Henrietta and her hoochie coochie.
