Passed away peacefully at the St. Lawrence Lodge of Brockville on Tuesday July 23rd, 2024 with family, at age 95. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (Bolton) Cooper for 66 years. Loving father of Sandra Cooper Whyte (Steve Walton) of Maitland, and Brenda Cooper Cassell of Brockville. Cherished grandfather of Allison Schneider (Jeremy) of Port Colborne and Brittany Cassell of Prescott. Proud great grandfather of Ryleigh and Grayson Schneider. Dear son of the late Herman and Beulah (Porter) Cooper of Garretton, Ontario; brother of the late Harold, Mansel and Mervin Cooper. Brother-in-law of Barbara Gordon (William)of Oshawa; uncle of Anne Marie Zajac (Paul), Kelly Mercer (John) and Jennifer Hogan (John), and families.
Ivan was known as the proprietor of “The Copland Book Store”, a business located in Brockville’s downtown core for decades.
As per Ivan’s wishes, a private Family Interment will take place at Blue Church Cemetery at a later date. In memory of Ivan, donations to the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Brockville or the SPCA Brockville would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
