Obituary of Dorothy Beverley Vanston

On Friday, June 21, 2024, at Brockville General Hospital with her daughter by her side, Dorothy “Beverley” Vanston entered into rest at the age of 89 years. Beloved wife of Robert Vanston, loving mother of Barry (Trish), Dennis (Darlene), and Wendy Ferguson. Cherished Grandmother of Kenneth, Yvonne (Adam), Rebecca (Wesley), and Madison; and Great-grandmother of Logan and Kingsley. Dear sister to Joan (Trevor) Wilson, Delbert (Connie), Gerald, Philip (Candice), Richard (Debbie) and Ronald (Betty) Barber. Predeceased by her beloved son Donald Ferguson; her parents Edna (nee Davis) and Ross Barber; siblings Anne (Allan) Carkner, Nelson and David Barber; and her late husband Claude and daughter in law Judy. She will also be greatly missed by her former daughter in law Rosemary, and several nieces and nephews. Beverley was a loving and devoted mother and caregiver to son Donald throughout his lifelong battle with muscular dystrophy. Her community spirit was evident in her long-time membership with the Legion, service to Red Cross and as an RNA in the Army.
