Obituary of Lorraine Throop
Peacefully entered into rest, surrounded by her family, at the Brockville General Hospital Charles St. Site on Thursday June 6th, 2024. Lorraine (St. John) of Brockville and formerly of Maitland, age 80 years. Beloved wife, of over 55 years, to the late Gerry Throop. Loving mother of Wayne Throop (Michelle) of Kanata and Steven Throop (Caroline) of Brockville. Proud Nanny of Carley, Jacob, Joshua, Jordan and Ella. Dear sister of the late Bud, Herbert, Bruce, and George St. John; and sister-in-law of Noreen St. John, Muriel Merkley and Keith Throop (Dorothy). Dear daughter of the late Paul and Irene (Vogan) St. John. Also survived by many very special nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. E., Brockville, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Chapel on Thursday June 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Maynard Cemetery. Reception will be taking place at Merc Hall following the Funeral Service. In memory of Lorraine donations to the Victoria United Church in Maynard, Canadian Cancer Society or Brockville District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated by the family.
