Denise was a close friend during my childhood years attending the same school & neighborhood. I too learned to ski thanks to Denise & her Dad. She gave me my first pair of skis. I spent many hours at her home at the edge of the woods & always felt welcome. In later years we would get caught up when she would visit her Mom in Pembroke either at Mary or Barbs homes. Denise was a classy gal always dressed in the latest fashions and a laughing noticed presence at any get together .
Gone too soon tho she fought hard to live her ife with those she loved as a proud wife & mother
Condolences to Tom Nathaniel ,Kelsey, siblings Susie & Peter & extended family Judy Cox nee Leahey

Denise once gave me a decorative tea towel with the following message: Good friends are like stars………. you can’t always see them but you know they are there. I have used that message many times and it expresses very well our relationship. It began in about grade 4 when the Whitmore family moved across town to Elizabeth St and Denise joined us at Lourdes. I think she was responsible for me starting to downhill ski at Alice. I would not say we were best friends but we saw a lot of each other until finishing High School at Fellowes. We then headed in different directions until resuming again when she and Tom returned to the Valley. “Hen Parties” with Moms and kids, “Hog Roasts” at the farm and the famous “Pipeline” parties kept us in touch. When they left the Valley again, the get-togethers became less frequent.
Deaths, illnesses, many prayers, e-mails and cards were now our main contact points. Denise will be greatly missed but we have many memories to cherish.
Love and prayers, Barb & Family

Thank you Denise for being my best friend. Our kids grew up together. We were blessed. Thank you Tom for taking us on our first train ride. We enjoyed the pipeline parties. Denise would borrow a dress from Marg for me to wear. Denise always looked in fashion. Tom, you made Denise laugh. The kids have lovely wives. They will look after Tom. All the laughs we had. I will miss your laugh. You left us too early. Will see you in heaven. Mary Josey and Jacques Chevrette and Roger and Ellen
