Obituary of Jean Mary Kennedy
A strong, resilient and compassionate mother of 10, grandmother of 16, great grandmother of 12. Jean will be dearly missed by her children and their families:
Gail (Michael) Lebel, Jennifer MacDougall, Dwight (Ruby), Bruce (Debbie), Robert (Sheryl), Jack, Frances & Heather Kennedy.
Jean was born into a loving family of 7 children, her brother Ken Russell (Cornwall) and sister Mildred McCulloch (Ottawa), who survive her.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Archie and has remained close to her sister in law Mary Aikman and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jean was fortunate enough to remain independent and living in her own home until this past December, where she loved spending time reading, watching her beloved Leafs and visiting with her family and her neighbours (Brian, Rita & Chris). Jean was known for her incredible cooking and baking. She was often found in her kitchen baking cookies and pies to distribute to all … a special skill she recently passed on to her daughter Gail.
Jean was fortunate to live a long and healthy life, a woman of faith who has gone to be with the Lord leaving behind many wonderful memories and the strong sense of family she instilled in her children.
Jean was predeceased by her loving daughter Rosemary, a son Keith. and her dear sisters Vi Vallance, Margret Barton, Florence Leitch and Ruby Redshaw.
Family and friends will be received at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street E., Brockville on Friday from 4:00 ~ 7:00 p.m. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church on Saturday April 13th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. In memory of Jean donations to St. Francis Xavier Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
