Very saddened by the passage of George. I have known him only briefly, having started attending St Patrick's just over a year ago. George sat in the second to last row and I behind him in the last. We always said good morning, and as old guys tend to do, commented on the weather. Only recently he told me about the large rosette stained glass window over the altar donated by his grandfather.
Last Sunday I watched George as he knelt down at those times in the Mass when we do so, it was clear that it was not easy for him to do so. I felt humbled by this lesson he imparted, unknowingly, and thankful to have had an opportunity to know him.
