Obituary of Stuart de Kroon

Died peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Monday September 18, 2023. Stuart de Kroon at the age of 85, well respected in both Lansdowne and Westport and a long-time member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church.

Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Van der Woude) de Kroon. Loving father of Henry de Kroon (Hilda nee DeJong), Jane VanNoy (Jay David), Steven de Kroon (Cathy nee Dijkema), John de Kroon (Julie nee Raison) and Allen de Kroon (Elaine nee Brinkert). Cherished grandfather of 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Aafke Van Ogtrop Predeceased by his parents Hendrick and Pietronella de Kroon; sisters Susan Mulder, Liz Micallef and brother Joe de Kroon. Also missed by in-laws Vince Micallef, Joanne de Kroon and many nieces and nephews.

Stuart immigrated from the Netherlands in the 50’s settling in Lansdowne as a farmer. He then co-owned a business in Westport until he retired. He was a lover of camping, fishing and working in his garden. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grand children and great grandchildren joking around and playing games.

Family and friends will be received for visitation at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. E., Brockville, on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service to celebrate Stuart’s Life will be held at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 117 Windsor Drive, Brockville on Friday September 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Private Family Interment Union Cemetery, Lansdowne.
