Obituary of Lyons Worden
Suddenly entered into rest at Brockville General Hospital on Wednesday July 19th, 2023. Lyons Worden of Brockville, age 74 years. Beloved husband of Shirley (Serson) Worden. Loving father of Dwayne (Winnie) and David (Sarah). Cherished grandfather of Trey, Jacob and Benny. Dear son of the late Howard and Lois (Dorman) Worden and brother of Don (Doreen), Craig, Andrew (Gloria) and Kate Worden (Rob Joyce) and Lydia Jensen (Randy). Also missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
He spent his final morning doing what he loved: riding his motorcycle on the open road. Lyons was an avid athlete in his younger days and spent many years coaching softball in Lyn. He liked hockey but, unfortunately, cheered for the Montreal Canadiens. He played golf whenever possible until he had to give it up. He wasn’t a great golfer but enjoyed getting out and seeing his friends. He will be missed by the gang at Tim Horton’s where he went every morning for coffee.
Family and friends will be received for visitation at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. E., Brockville, on Tuesday July 25th, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service which will held in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. In memory of Lyons donations to Leukemia research through the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
