Our family wants to express our sincere condolences. We were very sad to hear this.
We also want to thank Barclay's Funeral Home and Tori Barclay for her professionalism during our father, Angelo's wake and funeral, even though her grandfather had just passed. She supported us and we appreciate Tori, Doug and all the staff for everything you did, even though you were all hurting about the death of your Patriarch and founder.
This is a testament to the fact that Jim Barclay's professionalism and loving customer service has been passed down to the new generations. This is a beautiful organization! Bless you all.

My sincere sympathy to all of you upon Jim’s death. I was so very sorry to hear this. My husband, the late Rev. Words can't express the loss of such a Wonderful, Caring Person. Many memories of us on the farm, he soon took on the Title Uncle. Just recently we have been viewing old photos to try and figure out who they were, that has been a challenge.
Devoted to his Family and he has created such a legacy. Followed his career from the beginning, he was Compassionate, and very Professional. Always greeted you with a smile, loved sharing meals and stories with friends. Attended many, if not all fundraisers.
A huge loss to all in the area. Forever in our Hearts.

Doreen, Jill, Todd, Bill and Tori and the rest of the Barclay and Ward families, I was very shocked and saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. Our friendship with Jim and Doreen as well goes back to high school days, then Ottawa Roughrider games and camping times at Charleston Lake to name a few. Jim always had that smile and chuckle. Always professional but friendly which put you at ease when you had to call on him at his place of business. Just over a year ago, he spoke at John’s graveside service and will always be known as “Rev Jim” to my family. RIP Jim.

Dear Doreen, Jill, Todd, Bill and family,
Glenda and I send our sincere condolences on the loss of our special cousin and dear family member. Whenever I saw James approaching I would start to smile because I knew what was coming “ hello Harold Orville”. I was never sure why he added the “Orville”, perhaps it was because we shared the same middle name.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visits with him, one as recent as two weeks ago. As many of his tributes have stated he always had time for a chat.
My (late ) mother Cora and her siblings loved James dearly and he was tremendously kind and thoughtful towards them.
We thought James would go on forever but that was not to be ! He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but never forgotten.
Sending our heartfelt sympathy to each and everyone of you: Harold and Glenda

I was truly shocked to hear of Jim's passing having only just talked to him on the phone the day before. Please accept Margo & our sincere condolences and we are keeping you all in our prayers.
Rarely do you go through life and develop friendships which endure the passing of time. Jim was one of these individuals whom I consider a true friend and have been truly blessed to knowing and share many adventures with over past 25 years which including time in the hunting blind, the golf course, breakfast's in Lansdowne or road trips to Harrisburg PA, Toronto or Prescott to attend various sportsmen shows.
Jim always had a contagious enthusiasm and a passion for life which he lived to the fullest and was very much a people person whom was never to busy to take moment to chat with someone in the line at the grocery store, at the Bank or on the street always with have a cheerful greeting.
Jim was very proud of the excellent business he, Doreen and the family built, the Leeds & Grenville community where he resided, his roots in the Athens area and each of his children and his grandchildren and the individuals they had become.
While your time with us all was cut short my friend , you will but never forgotten.
Thanks for all the good memories

Dear Doreen, Jill, Todd, Bill and families,
It goes without saying that the news of James' passing is shocking. Since learning about this, Gary and I have looked back over time and recalled our many triple dates with you and James, Honey and Bob including dances, movies, parties. Remember our weekend with The White Fathers of Africa? Bill and Myrna were part of that event. James and I sat across the aisle from one another in Grade 13. We may have been planning weekend events rather than being attentive to what was going on in English Class with our teacher Miss Scouten. You, James and your family have lived your lives in the service of others. May those whom you have served offer you comfort and solace at this time. We send our sympathy, prayers, love and support from a distance. Sorry we can't be there in person to bid James farewell. May James rest in peace. (((Hugs))) and love. Gary and Carole

Jim Barclay was a real gentlemen and a credit to his profession. I have known and worked with Jim for all of my career in Funeral Service. We did not interact very often but when we did I knew that he was a true professional and that he cared deeply about others. He proudly served the community of Brockville and happily participated in Provincial initiatives for the good of his profession. As the current President of the Funeral Service of Canada we are grateful for his life long contribution and leadership. He will be missed.
Allan Cole, 2022/2023 President of the Funeral Service Association of Canada, and MacKinnon & Bowes Limited, Toronto.

I sit here and stare at the screen, wondering where I will find the right words to say about Jim. His eyes were like windows into his soul. His smile was genuine and sincere. It was obvious to all who knew him, that his family was his pride and joy. When in my deepest grief, the kindness and compassion was freely there for me, I simply had to reach out. These unique traits have been nurtured by his loving family. What an amazing legacy he leaves behind. Dear Doreen and family, my heart weeps at your loss. May the angels lift him high and applaud his arrival, for now, they are truly blessed. My sincerest condolences to you all.

Mr. Barclay was a kind soul who comforted many during their darkest hours. His smile, kind heart and commitment to family is a legacy we should all aspire to replicate. I’m so grateful I was able to see him and Doreen a week ago at the Warden’s Banquet. May his memory smile on your hearts often and bring you peace as his life was well lived with generosity and genuine concern for others. My thoughts are with all the family.

Doreen, Jill, Todd, Bill and families,
I am so very sorry for your loss, I have many memories of your dad over the years. He was a great man and always had a smile for everyone. I will never forget what a comfort he was to us when dad passed last year. Jim amd Tori were amazing and made a hard time run so smoothly. Dad would have loved knowing that Rev Jim said so many wonderful words at his service. You will be so missed Jim.
