After a short, courageous battle with cancer, Sheila Ann Birbeck passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on February 9th, 2022 at the age of 80 years. She was the beloved wife of 50 years to Thomas and a loving mother of Richard (Danielle Sargent) Birbeck and Tim (Cynthia Sloan-Birbeck) Birbeck. Sheila was a proud gramma to Noah, Isabelle, Isla and Emma. She will be missed dearly by friends and family in England, Canada and USA. Sheila was predeceased by her parents Violet and Peter Colclough. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed sailing the St. Lawrence River on “Wine Time” and spending her winters in Deerfield Beach, Florida. For more than 15 years, Sheila volunteered at the Brockville May Court. She was honored to belong to a dedicated group of women who provide financial assistance to those in need in their community. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. E., Brockville on Sunday, February 20th from 1 pm to 3 pm. After the wake, Sheila’s celebration of Life will take place at The Keystorm Pub, 2 Court House Ave, Brockville from 4 pm to 7 pm. In memory of Sheila, donations to Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario at KGH through UHKF, Brockville General Hospital Palliative Care or the May Court Club of Brockville would be greatly appreciated by her family.
