Richard Herbert Fancy an avid animal lover, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife Vista Fancy, daughter Robin Fancy, son Peter Fancy and granddaughter Elisha Barias at the Brockville General Hospital. Rick was born on September 22, 1946 to Lois and Vincent Fancy in Ottawa. He graduated with a degree in Science with major in mathematics and minor in physics from Carleton University. He then went on to complete bachelor in education at Queens University. He worked as a teacher, entrepreneur and in retirement worked as a Commissionaire. Rick is survived by his wife Vista Fancy, son Peter Fancy (Shino), daughter Robin Fancy (Jamie), Stepdaughter Sheila Barias (JayBee) and granddaughters Elisha Barias, Jenny Fancy and Vicka Fancy. A celebration of life was held December 22, 2021 at his residence in North Augusta, attended by his close relatives who shared stories of him being a grand master of storytelling and tall tales! He is also remembered as someone with a generous heart, kind spirit and as someone who befriended many.
