Entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital with family by his side on Saturday March 13, 2021. Gary Smith of Brockville age 75 years. Beloved husband of Mary Ann (Eligh) Smith. Loving father of Terri-Ann Smith (Jeff Landry) of North Bay and Pamela Smith of Whitby; and stepfather of Jodie Melmer (Jason) of St. Thomas, ON and Bill Dixie (Trudy) of Brockville. Cherished grandfather of Rachel, Ryan, Alex, Brandon, Paige, Bryce, Christopher and Kaleigh; and great grandfather of Olivia. Son of the late Carson and Laura (Mallette) Smith. Dear brother of Lorna Preston (Richard), Gail Code (Harold), Don Smith (Joan) and the late Betty Stoddard and Darwin Smith; and brother-in-law of Lynda Smith, Jo-Ann (nee Eligh) Adams, Jerry Eligh (Valerie), Jacquie Eligh and the late Dennis Eligh. Gary is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Gary had a love of golf and was a long-time member of the Prescott Golf Club. Due to the COVID restrictions there will be no service at this time. A “Celebration of Gary’s Life” will be held in the future. In memory of Gary, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
