Mr. Meunier changed the course of my post secondary education. I went through high school taking classes that would lead me to become a chemical engineer. In 12 grade I had to take a senior social science and it was the history of Europe from the French Revolution to WW2. Ironically it was offered again as an OAC class and I took it again. I redid mu University applications to change my major to history
Mr. Meunier you touched my life in a way you could never understand and I thank you for that. RIP, Sir, you deserve it.

Lisa, Michelle, Marcia and families,
I am sorry to hear of Mr. Meunier’s passing. He was one of the legendary teachers at BCI. He was tough, but very fair and well liked and respected.
You will all miss him greatly. Take care of each other during this time of adjustment.

Dick Meunier taught me history at BCI almost 50 years ago. He gave me "compressed" extra history assignments because I had such an appetite for the subject - it was extra work for him juggling regular class lessons plus keeping an eye on my independent accelerated studies. That is the kind of teacher he was, committed to his subject and his students from whom he demanded the best, all the time. Everyone rose to the occasion in his classes. His sharp wit and rigorous teaching style netted him a lot of respect from students. That's a hard act to pull off but he was so good at it. I am so grateful to have been one of his students. My condolences to his family. This is a photo of me with Dick and my mother Rita in November 2018 at BCI - it was wonderful to meet him again after 45 years!
With best wishes,
Dan Healey

Mr. Meunier indeed had a rare and commanding teaching style. He was a great story teller. He pushed his students and it's true we all were better for it. Such a lovely photo of him. Thank you. Also great to see Mrs. Healey who I remember fondly since I was in school with Michael and also Ted. My condolences to the Meunier family. Very sorry for your loss.

So very sorry to hear of Mr. Meunier’s passing. I had the pleasure of having him as my teacher in highschool. He was tough but one of my favourite teachers. His shorthand served me well in university! I always loved running into him around town as an adult and will remember him fondly. My deepest sympathies.

Sincere condolences on the passing of a great teacher. I remember a young good looking teacher at BCI who was a great gentleman not much older than the students. He always treated us fairly and listened to what we had to say. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Of all my teachers Mr. Meunier is one of the only ones I remember. RIP Sir. My Condolences, Dick and my family have been connected for decades. As a coach, babysitting services, pupils, and then dog playing neighbours. Our last meeting was at a scotch tasting some years ago put on by our friends from Montreal. We knew then how tough times were. But as a finale salute to you “Get in to the yes Sir habit” YES SIR, RIP.

To Minnie's (Richard's) family, my deepest condolences.
We grew up together in Cornwall where met in grade 9, and were close friends revelling in many escapades during those year and dreaming about the future. We shared an apartment in Toronto when Minnie was at OCE and I was doing graduate work at U of T. Pierre, Minnie's brother lived with us as well. Over the years we saw less and less of each other but about 15 years ago Minnie showed up at my front door in Toronto where he was visiting one of his daughters. The last time we met (2008) we drove from Brockville to Cornwall and around the countryside revisiting all our old haunts, including the house he lived in in Moulinette that was moved to Longue Sioux because of the Seaway construction. We exhanged Christmas cards after that until 2 years ago when one never arrived. When I tried to contact him my email bounced and he never returned my pone calls. I guess he was getting sicker. Time moves on and we are all getting older and more vulnerable, but our memories of all the good times are a Godsend.. Rest in peace my old friend.
Sincerely, Joe McMahon.

Achieving Success
He has achieved success
who has lived well,
laughed often,
and loved much;
Who has enjoyed the trust of pure women,
the respect of intelligent men,
and the love of little children;
Who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
Who has left the world better than he found it…
whether by an improved poppy,
a perfect poem,
or a rescued soul;
Who has never lacked an appreciation
for Earth’s beauty
or failed to express it;
Who has always looked for the best in others
and has given them the best he had;
Whose life was an inspiration…
whose memory a benediction.
