Greg and Rod, I was so sorry to see that your Mom passed away. We frequently spoke while walking in the neighbourhood. She was always so kind and friendly. When I ran into your Mom and you Greg last month she seemed so well. My thoughts are with you both.

Aunt Belva was quite a character -- quick-witted and fun to talk to, interested and informed on current events, passionate on the latest political news. Her dedication to caring for Uncle Hewitt following his stroke was a symbol of the deep love they shared, and her grief upon his passing was heart-breaking. They were quite the team. She will b e missed. Deepest condolences to the boys.

Dear Carley family~
There are some poetic words from William Blake that come to mind at many funerals-- although I never seem to get them quite right. I've just looked them up, they're from "Auguries of Innocence":
Joy and woe are woven fine
A clothing for the soul divine
Under every grief and pine
Runs a joy with silken twine
Those words come to mind because of that delicate state we find ourselves in when we're feeling broken and bereaved: we're heartbreakingly sad, but we're also proud and grateful-- so thankful for a gift like your loving mom. That mix of joy and grief is hard to bear-- many times we don't know exactly how or what to feel. Tomorrow around 1pm I'll be thinking of you with these words, and praying that you feel that appropriate joy and gratitude, as confusing and difficult as it may be.
On behalf of Rod and Marian's church family,
~ted.

Aunt Belva was a wonderful person and will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was so easy to visit with and had a great sense of humour. We did not spend enough time together over the years, as often happens with families, but whenever you had the chance to connect it was such a pleasure. She was the last to go from my father's family and now that generation is gone. Rest in peace Aunt Belva.

Greg and family,
We are so sorry to hear the sad news.
Mrs. Carley is truly one of the nicest and most genuine people that we had the pleasure of knowing. She always took the time to say hello and have a quick conversation with everyone in our family, and will be missed by all of us.
There was always a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face when she would speak of her family, and it was evident how proud she was of all of you.
Take care,
Geoff, Tanya, Nolan, Troy and Raigen Brien
