Obituary of John Frederick Hunter
World champion Husband, Father, Grand Father, Great Grand Father and bird carver entered into rest peacefully with his wife Joan by his side at Maple View Lodge on Sunday September 1st, 2019. John “Jack” Frederick Hunter of Prescott, at the age of 83 years.
I wish to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to everyone who with love and compassion took such great care of my Jack.
Jack leaves to mourn and lovingly remember him, is his wife Joan of 61 years and his dear children: Julie (David) Aimers, Jill (Steve) Durant, Jay (Kim) Hunter, Joey (Jo) Hunter, Jody Hunter-Dickson and 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. His brother Ronald (Louise) as well as 2 nieces, 1 nephew and many cousins. Predeceased by his parents Gerald and Gertrude (Reid) and sister Marilyn Taylor.
His unique artwork of the structures around Prescott and wood carvings which have made their way around the world will always be appreciated and remembered.
As per Jack’s wishes, there will be no visitation and a private celebration of his life will be at a later date. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated.
