Obituary of Hubert John Cowle
Entered into rest at Maple View Lodge, Athens on Saturday August 10, 2019. Hubert John Cowle of Athens aged 91 years. Beloved husband of Mary (Whitmore) Cowle. Proud brother-in-law of Audrey Whitmore of Athens, Uncle to Karen Cotto (Mike), Elizabeth Whitmore (Greg Rehberg), Susan Whitmore, Barb Raison (Rob) and two special great nephews Nick and Parker Cotto. Hubert is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Ruby (Jones) Cowle, siblings Helen Sheen and Lloyd Cowle, brothers-in-law George and Walter Whitmore and a nephew Brent Whitmore.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Christ Church Athens, 1 Elma St. on Wednesday August 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Rising Sun Lodge No. 85 A.F. & A.M. will hold a Masonic Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. in the Church, all sister lodges are welcome to attend. Interment will follow at Glen Elbe Cemetery. In memory of Hubert, donations to Christ Church, Athens or Maple View Lodge would be greatly appreciated by the family.
