Obituary of Marlene Merkley

Peacefully in her sleep at Brockville General Hospital on February 17, 2018. Marlene (Lee) Merkley of Brockville, Ontario at age 56.

Dear mother of Kelly and April (1997-1999), sister of Stephen Piercy (Christina Raven), Wayne Duval (Chantal) and Laura Thompson. Survived by her step-father Ernie Murray and her cherished nieces and nephews: Tannis, Fred, Sebastien, Niko and Mateo. She is predeceased by her mother Anne Dionne, her infant daughter April and her sister Genevieve Lee.

Marlene will be missed by a wide network of extended family, friends, coworkers and supporters.

She will be fondly remembered for her determination, will-power and kindness. She worked for the Brockville & District Association for Community Involvement for 30 years and loved to explore her creative side with photography, gardening, rug hooking and collage making.

A gathering to honour her life will be held at New Hope Tabernacle, 2811 Second Concession, Brockville, Ontario on Saturday February 24, from 2-5 p.m. Speeches and words of tribute will commence at 3pm.
