It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Louise Casselman, on Saturday August 13, 2016 at the age of 74. Predeceased by her much loved and cherished husband of 48 years, Edward. Louise will be lovingly remembered by her children Jack (Halina) and Teresa (Kim). She will be fondly remembered by her five grandchildren: Ryan; Ashley (two great-grandsons); Ben (Karine) great-grand children Gabrielle and Jeremy; Nick (Elena) great-grandson Charlie; and Jennifer (Tyler). She is survived by her loving sisters’ in-law Dorothy Karasuik of Brockville, Geraldine Nugent of London, Viola McCune of Brockville, Pearl Scaaf of Brockville, Mereland Casselman of Peterborough. Predeceased by her parents Helen Kilmury (Douglas) and Ernie Kilmury, her brothers Doug, Jack (Marilyn), sisters Evelyn, Mary (Frank) Dunster, Helen (Gene) Moffatt and brothers in law Robert Casselman, John Karasiuk, Donald McCune, William Nugent sister in law Jean Hamelin and her husband Bill. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and close friends. Mom was challenged by many health issues through the years and was very grateful for all the help she received with modern medicine. She was admitted to several hospitals including, Brockville, Kingston and Ottawa. She handled it all with great courage and determination. Mom’s happiest times were spent with family and friends sharing a good meal, a good laugh or a game of cards. In later years she became an avid reader and enjoyed her friendship books and daily devotions. Her kind, gentle, and loving nature will be missed by all. Our family wishes to thank all the staff at Robertson House Retirement Home in Ottawa, where Mom resided for the past few years. Mom developed many friendships while there, with staff and residents. She was truly appreciative of the care and support they provided her. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church on Wednesday August 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. In honour of Mom, who loved sharing meals with family and friends, donations can be made to Loafs and fishes in Brockville or the Brockville General Hospital Foundation Cardiac Rehab Program.
