Dear Tub, Chris, Leslie, David and Heather and family , our thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your family at this difficult time.
When my dad passed away, some friends shared this saying with my family. I framed a picture of my dad and put this saying with it. Although it took quite a while, it made me feel better reading it. I hope it gives you some comfort.
People may disappear but they never really go away. Their spirits put the sun to bed, water the grass, and spin the earth in dizzy circles. Sometimes if you look real close, you can see angels dancing in a cloud. They paint the rainbow and sunsets and make the waves splash and tug at the tide. They toss shooting stars across the sky and listen closely to our wishes. And when they sing their songs, they are whispering to us, "Don't miss me too much. The view is nice and I'm doing just fine."
Rest in peace, Ruth Anne......Godspeed. Love, Linda and Bill

So sorry to hear of this news just now. We have known Tub and Ruth since our high school years ... and more recently when I painted the scenes around their home. A life well lived!

Dear David, Heather and Family
So very very sad and sorry for your loss.
Ruth Anne has left a wonderful legacy in the caring and loving family who will miss her and the many organizations she so generously volunteered for throughout her life.
We have many wonderful memories of our visits to The River....she and Tub so generously opened up their home to us and made us feel very welcome. We will remember the sound of her laughter from easier times.
Our hope is all the memories you cherish will give you comfort in the days ahead.
Her Spirit is now on to its next adventure....and no doubt it involves driving a Miata through the Heavenly Gates!
Much love from our Family to your Family
Annette and Rick xoxo

Thinking of you, Tub, and all your family. Ruth Anne was a gem, and she will be missed.
I've known her from the early years in Guelph, when the Tolton's were neighbours and friends.
I'm so sorry I can't be with you. I hope the following, from 'The Midrash' may give you comfort.
IAM STANDING UPON THE SEASHORE;
a ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength, and I stand and watch her until - at length - she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, ''There! She's gone!'' Gone where? Gone from my sight - that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and is just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination. Her diminished size is in me, not in her; and just at the moment when someone at my side says, ''There! She's gone!'', there are other eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, ''Here she comes!''

To all the Toltons,
Please accept our sincere condolences. We knew and loved Ruth Ann. We met her 48 years ago in 1967 when she and her family moved to Brockville.
We knew her - as having a quick wit; as a sauna lover; a gardener; a sports car driver of an Miata that she purchased for herself on her 75th birthday; as a co-traveller to Scotland; a skier; a walker on the Parkway with Amy; co- hosted many lively staff parties with Tub while he taught at BCI; and most of all as a good friend.
She will be missed.
We are blessed to have known her.
Sincerely,
Dixie and John
