Dear Barb, our thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your family at this difficult time.
When my dad passed away, some friends shared this saying with my family. I framed a picture of my dad and put this saying with it. Although it took quite a while, it made me feel better reading it. I hope it gives you some comfort.
People may disappear but they never really go away. Their spirits put the sun to bed, water the grass, and spin the earth in dizzy circles. Sometimes if you look real close, you can see angels dancing in a cloud. They paint the rainbow and sunsets and make the waves splash and tug at the tide. They toss shooting stars across the sky and listen closely to our wishes. And when they sing their songs, they are whispering to us, "Don't miss me too much. The view is nice and I'm doing just fine."
Rest in peace, Pat......Godspeed. Love, Linda and Bill

I wrote a note of condolence Monday but Paula informs me it didn't show up so I'll try again.
Pat was both my uncle and my godfather. Some of my very best childhood memories are a result of his shenanigans. He was always generous and very funny with all of us.
All of the O'Gradys loved to watch horse races and when I heard Pat had bought one, I wasn't surprised.
He was truly one of a kind and I know Barb, Luke, Kim and the grandkids have a million wonderful memories of him to treasure.
My thoughts and sympathy are with you.

Pat was our hero when we were kids. I will never forget driving to Kingston to visit the Monahans with him and our aunt Teenie. Teenie was driving and Pat complained the entire way about how slow she was going. On the return trip, it started raining and Teenie had laundry hanging outside. She suddenly started driving like a mad woman. When she asked whether she should stop and get some toilet paper Pat piped up "You better, you've scared the _ _ _ _ out of us all now". We all roared with laughter and I still laugh today when I think of that story. I have many fond memories of Pat. He will be sadly missed. Barb, Luke, Kim and families, my thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

I second Tom Monahan in saying that Pat was my favourite uncle. He always had a twinkle in his eye and a joke to tell. He once took me and a few of my siblings to a drive-in movie to see a Jerry Lewis movie that was absolutely terrible. On the way out he couldn't resist rolling down the window and shouting at the guy taking the money for the next showing "You've got your nerve!". Pat laughed as hard as we did as we drove away. It's very sad to know he's gone. My condolences to Barb, Luke, Kim and their extended families.

Dear Barb,
I am very sorry to hear the passing of Pat, my sincere condolences to you and your family.
While I was a student at T.I.S.S (in the late 70’s – early 80’s) Pat was my guidance councillor and gym teacher. Pat was always there to listened to my concerns and life issues, and he certainly made a difference to me in choosing to my career path, and I thank him for that.
When you lose someone very precious, no one else can really know all that you feel.
Please know that many caring thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow.
Sincerely, Elizabethtown-Kitley Councillor Rob Smith

Dear Barb, Luke & Kim:
We were so very sad to hear of Pat's passing. He was such a great guy to work with - lots of laughter always. The Guidance Department was never the same once he came on the scene - it became a fun department to work in.
Pat's love of life, family and friends will never leave us - he'll always be remembered.
Our thoughts are with you all.

Dear Barb, Kim, Luke and families: Please know that our thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time of loss and grief. I was very saddened to hear the news of Pat's passing. He was one of those people who inspired others without trying. He had a way of bringing out the best in people, and motivating them to be the best they could. He was particularly inspiring to me in demonstrating that teaching and coaching was an enjoyable and rewarding way of life. I will always be grateful for his leadership and guidance.

I was both shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Pat's passing. I remember long conversations about basketball, horses, education and life in general. He was approachable, kind and genuinely interested in those around him. Today and in the near future, there is a hole in the TISS world. His ripple was very large.

Sad and shocking news to us - I have to say Pat was my favourite uncle growing up - he was always very humorous and fun to be around. In 1975 I was at 53 Wall and he wanted everyone to go downtown to see a small fair/carnival that was on in Brockville and we had just one too many for my car - so Pat being Pat went in the trunk at his insistence. His only comment when he got out - "well that was interesting". Our younger son is named Sean Patrick Michael Monahan, and you can guess what the Patrick is for. Our condolences to Barb, Kim and Luke. Tom and Cindy
