Born in Wellseley, Ontario on May 28, 1925, Mildred died peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, 2008. She will be deeply missed by her partner in life for 62 years, Richard Harvey of East Fulford Place, Brockville, her son R. Gordon Harvey, daughter-in-law Susan, grandchildren Caileigh and Iain (all of Pickering), and her daughter Marissa (Crystal Beach). Mildred was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and "Aunt Millie". Mom was devoted and generous to her family and lived to help and support us all with her tireless work ethic and friendly spirit. Mildred met Richard while working as a hairdresser in Toronto where they married in 1948, then moved to Cornwall in 1963 and on to settle in Brockville in 1975. She volunteered at the Brockville Hospital for 25 years and seldom missed her dailey power walk down King Street. Mildred is survived by one brother, Alex Hammond of Harrow, Ontario and predeceased by sister Grace and brothers Walter (Pete), James and Carl. Thank you to Dr. Best for over 30 years of care and the staff at BGH for their kind and gentle support during her last days. Mildred asked that no funeral service be held - cremation will be followed by a private memorial at the graveside of her parents in Harrow, Essex County.
