Obituary of Jean Makepeace
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved aunt who died peacefully in her sleep in her 94th year on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Brockville General Hospital, Garden Street Site. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward A. (Ted) Mackenzie and Jessie May (Oliver) MacKenzie, also of Brockville, by her husband of 57 years, Charles Edgar Makepeace, and by her sisters, Evelyn Cameron and Ruth Wilson. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends, all of whom were privileged to have had her as part of our lives. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Brockville General Hospital and, in particular, those in ICU and the second floor of the Charles Street Site, and the fifth floor of the Garden Street Site who provided such kind and compassionate care in the final weeks of her life. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville at 11 a.m. Donations in Jean’s memory to The Brockville & District Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Interment in the Spring in Oakland Cemetery.
