Entered into rest at the Kingston General Hospital on Friday January 7, 2011. Ed Nicholson of Brockville age 81 years. Beloved husband of the former Margaret Joan Metcalfe. Loving dad of Teresa Knight (Jim) of British Columbia, Joe Nicholson (Bobbi) British Columbia, Lorraine Fair (Barry) of Manitoba, Dian Mackinnon (Drew) of British Columbia, Bernadette Nicholson (Duncan) of Manitoba. Cherished grandfather of 24 and loving great-grandfather of 7. Missed by daughters-in-law Lorraine and Genelle Nicholson both of Saskatchewan. Brother of Paula MacAvoy of Calgary, Martin Nicholson (Irene) of Brockville and brother-in-law of Beryl Nicholson and Terry Sadler both of Ontario.. Predeceased by sons Chris and Craig, a brother Peter and a sister Mary and a brother-in-law Joe. Family and friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Liturgy of The Christian Funeral will be Celebrated on Thursday January 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. in St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, North Augusta. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations made in Ed’s memory to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Charity of Choice would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Ed will always be remembered as a joyful, positive and generous man. He was extremely dedicated to his family and faith. We will celebrate his life forever.
