Ernest (Ernie) Frederick Kean, of Brockville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 2, 2011. He was born on January 4, 1924 in Chalk River. He was the last of nine children born to Frederick John Kean and Liddie Selma (Kannegiesser). He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ethel (Dillon); 5 children: Heather McGrath (Paul) of Whitecourt, AB; Julie Kean Marks (Bruce) of Elgin, NB; David (Sheena Conroy) of Calgary, AB; Lorna Boucher (Marc) of Tecumseh, ON; and Allan (Karin Christlmeier) of Perth, ON; 14 grandchildren: Raissa (Chris), Kurt, Scott (Amy), Josie (Ben), Zoe, Thomas, Danielle, Matthew, Joanne, Patrick, Garrett, Sam, Kaitie, and Zoe; one great-granddaughter, Eva; one sister, Frieda Hill; and many nieces and nephews. Ernie was predeceased by his brothers Alfie and Percy and sisters Florence McKay, Edna Periard, Molly McKee, Myrtle Van Bridger, and Reta Shultz. A graveside service for Ernie will be held in the Spring at Oak Leaf Cemetery, date and time to be announced.
