Peacefully entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital, Garden Street Site on Monday December 3, 2012, George Whitman Brewer of Brockville age 77 years. Beloved husband for over 54 years to Donna Montford. Dear father of Rod (Concettina) of Ottawa, Randy (Carolyn) of North Augusta and Ray (Lynn) of Sunapee New Hampshire. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Kevin, Tyler, Becki, Kylie, and Megan, Mikey and Angelica; and great grandfather of Noah, Damian, Sean, Faith and Nathan. Pre-deceased by his parents Rod and Edna (Bishop), brother Don, in-laws Walter and Barbara (Montford) and brother-in-law Charlie (Montford). Survived by sister Elizabeth Anne (Betty Anne) Howell of Moncton, NB; half-brother Robert (Bob) Barlow of Chelmsford, ON; half-sister Ellen (Barlow) Chicoine of Fredericton, NB; and sisters-in-law Liz (Paul) Brewer of Fredericton, NB, Regis (Montford) Myton (Randy) of New Westminster, BC and Elaine (Montford) Gilchrist (Chris) of Quispamsis, NB along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be celebrated at St. John Bosco Church on Saturday December 8, 2012 at 11 am. The family would like to thank Bayshore and KGH Dialysis units; his Bayshore nurses, Camille and Geoff; Red Cross PSW’s, especially Andy Elliott who was with him through 5 years of ups and downs; CCAC; CPHC and the drivers to KGH, notably Wayne Reid, Don Anderson and Dave Cody; and most recently the nurses and Dr. Andy Thomas from the Palliative Care unit at Garden Street Site. In memory of George, and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care or the Kidney Foundation of Canada – Ontario Branch would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
